MVP This Week

Andrew & Jessica Welch

A message from the Welch family,

Wow! June was such a busy month for our students at Legacy Learning Center and Open Bible Academy. They had a wonderful time wrapping up their school year. The students had a field day, a day filled with games, food, laughter, and lots of fun. Thank you to those who gave to make sure they had a fun-filled day to celebrate the closing of school. Our students and staff send their heartfelt appreciation.

Our students also had their school closing program. This program highlighted all of the learning that took place this past year, including reciting memory verses, singing songs, reading passages, performing a drama, and sharing concepts of their learning from science, history, English, and even math. Please view a few pictures from the closing program below.

We are incredibly thankful for technology. Since our family is currently stateside, we were unable to attend the closing program. However, our teachers made sure to video-record it for us. This made it possible to watch the entire closing program. It brought tears to our eyes to see the immense learning that took place this last year on display. We give God the glory for making it all possible. The students and teachers did an amazing job. We love that we get the honor of working with such dedicated students and teachers.

Our teachers spent their last week on campus before summer break cleaning, packing, and giving entrance exams for next year’s Legacy Students. We are still in need of a few more students to have a complete class for next year. Please pray that we will be able to finalize the class upon our return in August.

Due to the demands of high school classes with our children, it will just be Drew and myself returning to Liberia in August. Our trips will be shorter in duration, but more frequent. These shorter, more frequent trips, allow us to shift the responsibility of the daily operations back in the hands of our Liberian staff, which they have handled quite well. We are incredibly proud of each one of them. We find ourselves frequently thanking God for giving us such an amazing group of people to partner in ministry. Whom God sends, God equips. God has not only equipped us as missionaries, but he is equipping all of our staff as missionaries to a community that desperately needs Jesus. It has been such a joy and pleasure to be a small part of what God is doing in Liberia.

Prayer requests:

-Pray for our return trip in August that we will be able to complete the extensive “to-do” list while we are on the ground.

-Pray for Ian, Kayla and Kirsten as we launch a new school year with three high schoolers.

-Pray for Ian as he faces life altering decisions about his future in his senior year.

-Pray for Legacy Learning Center as we launch year three and minister to a new group of students.

-Pray for Open Bible Academy as it will officially open its doors as a registered school in September. This comes with a few changes for our teachers that makes them feel uncertain.

-Pray for our teachers as they minister to the students and community.

Thank you again for making all of this possible! We thank God for connecting us with you.

Blessings,

Drew, Jessica, Ian, Kayla and Kirsten
